Governor Nwifuru Seeks Forgiveness, Urges Ebonyi Residents to Re-elect APC in 2027
Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has appealed to residents of the state to pardon the shortcomings of his administration and those of elected lawmakers, while calling on them to continue supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Nwifuru made the appeal on Sunday during a democracy Thanksgiving Service held at the Government House Chapel in Abakaliki to mark the third anniversary of his administration.
Speaking before worshippers, government officials, political leaders and clerics, the governor admitted that his administration, as well as members of the National Assembly and the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, may have fallen short in some areas while carrying out their responsibilities.
He, however, urged the people to remain steadfast in their support for their elected representatives.
“Please forgive us—forgive me, the National Assembly members and the House of Assembly members. Overlook our shortcomings and give us your support again at the polls,” he appealed.
Reflecting on his three years in office, Nwifuru thanked God for the progress recorded by his administration, noting that leadership is a continuous learning process that requires humility, commitment and the understanding of the people.
He acknowledged that no government is perfect but assured residents that his administration remains committed to improving service delivery, expanding infrastructure and extending the dividends of democracy to more communities across the state.
The governor also reiterated his resolve to sustain ongoing development initiatives and policies designed to improve the welfare and quality of life of Ebonyi residents.
